Cookie Policy · Brandvue Studio

This policy explains the cookies and similar technology on our website, and how to change your choice.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Similar technology, such as your browser’s local storage and tracking pixels, works in a similar way. In this policy, “cookies” covers all of them.

2. Your choice

What happens depends on where you are when you visit.

UK, European Economic Area, Switzerland and Quebec: a cookie bar asks first. You can keep using the website without answering it. Nothing used for marketing loads unless you click Accept. If you click Reject or ignore the bar, only the strictly necessary items below are used. If you accept, we ask again after 13 months. If you reject, we don’t ask again for 90 days. You can change your mind at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page.
Rest of Canada: the Meta pixel runs when you arrive, and on your first visit we show a notice with an Opt out link. You can also opt out at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. Opting out stops it straight away in that browser and keeps it off.
United States, Australia and everywhere else: the Meta pixel runs when you arrive. You can opt out at any time with the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. Opting out stops it straight away in that browser and keeps it off. You can also use the tools in section 4.

To work out which applies, we use your approximate location (country and state or province) from your internet connection or, if that isn’t available, your device’s time zone and language. We don’t store it.

3. What we use

Strictly necessary

bv-consentLocal storage on our website. Remembers whether you accepted, rejected or opted out of marketing cookies, so we don’t ask on every page. Used for 13 months after an Accept and 90 days after a Reject where we ask first; an opt-out anywhere else stays until you change it.

bv-noticeLocal storage on our website, Canada outside Quebec only. Remembers that you’ve seen the cookie notice, so it only shows once.

bv-langLocal storage on our website, Quebec only. Remembers whether you switched the cookie banner to English or French.

Marketing (see section 2 for when these run)

Meta pixelA small piece of code from Meta Platforms. It tells Meta which pages you visit on our website and when you start or send our makeover form, so we can see which Facebook and Instagram ads bring visitors and show our ads to people likely to be interested.

_fbpSet by our website for Meta. Identifies your browser to measure ads. Expires after 90 days.

fr and other Meta cookiesSet by Meta on its own domains if you use Facebook or Instagram in the same browser. Used for advertising. Typically last up to 90 days. See Meta’s cookie policy.

4. How to opt out and control cookies

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking every cookie can stop some websites working properly.
You can control how Meta uses information from other websites in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.
You can opt out of interest-based ads from participating companies, including Meta, at aboutads.info (United States), youradchoices.ca (Canada) and youronlinechoices.eu (UK and Europe).
